Abdominoplasty & Breast Lift Before and After - Journey 14

An abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) is a surgical procedure that aims to reduce excess loose skin, primarily from the lower part of the abdomen or stomach, as well as tightening the remaining skin. A breast lift (or mastopexy) is when excess skin is removed and breast tissue is reshaped to raise the breasts.

This 50-year-old woman came to Avery with the goal of improving the appearance of her abdomen and to address the position of her breasts, having them sit higher on her chest.

Dr Avery completed combined surgery, with a bilateral breast lift and abdominoplasty. Dr Avery removed 78g from each breast and positioned them to sit higher on her chest.

With the abdominoplasty, a total of 860g of excess skin and tissue was removed. The photos are before surgery and 4-months after surgery, at 4 months after surgery the scars are sometimes at their worst being red and sometimes elevated.

With time and scar management which often includes taping, moisturising and massaging the scars these will improve and gradually mature with an expected time of around 12-18 months until this is complete.
