Breast Reduction Before and After - Journey 27

03.11.24

Breast reduction surgery involves a combination of skin and breast tissue removal and reshaping. The surgery aims to reduce the size and weight of large breasts by lifting the breasts off the lower chest and upper abdomen. The objective is to leave the breasts smaller and lighter, sitting higher on the chest and closer to the body.

These photographs show a female in her mid 40s before surgery and 5 months after breast reduction surgery.

This person came to see Dr Avery with the goal of reducing her H cup breasts and alleviate symptoms associated with large heavy breasts.

Breast reduction surgery was completed. Dr Avery removed 784g of skin and tissue from the right breast and a further 1003g from the left thus addressing significant asymmetry.

A thorough post operative recovery plan was followed by the patient, including attending weekly appointments at Avery over the 4 weeks following surgery; wearing surgical garments for 6 weeks after surgery to assist with swelling how the wounds settle; and regular LED light therapy sessions.

Patients considering any form of surgery will need to come in for a consultation with Dr Avery to discuss your expectations, along with the surgical options for how these can be achieved.
