Breast reduction surgery involves a combination of skin and breast tissue removal and reshaping. The surgery aims to reduce the size and weight of large breasts by lifting the breasts off the lower chest and upper abdomen. The objective is to leave the breasts smaller and lighter, sitting higher on the chest and closer to the body.
This Avery patient met with Dr Avery and our Care Team to discuss possible surgical options to address symptomatic heavy breasts and asymmetry. This 59-year-old woman had the goal to relieve neck, shoulder and upper back pain and discomfort relating to her breasts.
These clinical photographs were taken before and 4 months after breast reduction surgery. Dr Avery removed 1.1kg of skin, fat, and tissue from the right breast and 1.4kg from the left breast, thereby addressing asymmetry of the breasts also. The nipples were also positioned higher, which contributes to the overall lifted appearance of the breasts.
