An abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) is a surgical procedure that aims to reduce excess loose skin, primarily from the lower part of the abdomen or stomach, as well as tightening the remaining skin. Breast augmentation surgery (or augmentation mammoplasty) increases the size and volume of the breast using implants.

These are the pre and post-operative (4 months after surgery) photos of a 53-year-old woman who has had an abdominoplasty as well as breast augmentation surgery combine with breast lift surgery.

During the surgery 430g of lower abdominal tissue was removed, this is generally from the level of the belly button down to the upper pubic region where a c-section scar would be located. An additional 300mL of fat was removed from the remaining abdominal tissue.

The goal for the changes to the breasts were to achieve an increase in size with a higher position of the breasts on the chest. This was achieved by inserting smooth round 225cc, moderate projection implants, in a submuscular position. Projection refers to how far out from the chest the implants sit. Implant size is chosen with the patient’s goals and existing body dimensions in mind. A simultaneous breast lift performed. Scars will fade over time, with 12 months or more the typical time required for scars to fade to their best.
