An abdominoplasty is a surgical procedure that aims to reduce excess skin, primarily from the lower part of the abdomen or stomach, as well as tightening the remaining skin.
These clinical before and after images were taken before surgery and 4.5 months post abdominoplasty surgery, including correction of diastasis recti (‘muscle separation’). During this procedure, 1.6kg of skin and fat were removed from the abdominal wall and muscle separation of 32mm was also addressed.
Considering Surgery
If you are thinking about surgery, the first step is a consultation with Dr Avery. This time provides an opportunity to:
- Discuss your motivations for surgery, your expectations and the questions you have
- Assess your health and medical history to ensure any surgery considered is suitable
- Discuss the options available to you
- Meet the team who will support you through your surgical journey
Every patient’s circumstances are different. Consultations are designed to give you the information you need to make an informed decision about whether surgery is right for you.
